The NewbornsInSA project is an MRFF-funded clinical translational research study to explore new models of genomic newborn screening. This research will employ a combination of untargeted metabolomic screening and whole-genome sequencing to identify newborns at risk of a genetic disease, perform confirmatory diagnostic testing and initiate early intervention.
