The Opportunity

Reporting into the Regional Operations Manager, Hydrocarbons, this role focuses on ensuring the efficient and effective operations of Cleanaway’s Hydrocarbons NSW fleet.  As part of this role, you will manage drivers, sub-contractors and transport providers, whilst also displaying safety leadership and compliance.  Additionally, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • The allocation of preventative and corrective maintenance and coordination of vehicle inspections
  • Raising, managing, and tracking completion of work orders for all repair and maintenance
  • Raising purchase orders and ensuring sufficient levels of inventory ensuring supply balance
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring professional drivers and owner operators around NSW
  • Facilitating the transportation of used lube oil between collection depots and refineries, ensuring route optimization and efficiency of collections
  • Building, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with repair and maintenance suppliers
  • Monitoring and analysing KPIs ensuring continuous improvements
  • Regular and effective delivery of Toolbox talks


About You

You are a safety affirming leader with a focus on customer satisfaction, who enjoys building solid working relationships with all stakeholders.  You will hold demonstrated experience working within a transport, logistics or waste management environment and relish solving a problem. 

To be successful in this role you will also posses:

  • A solid understanding of fatigue management and transport regulations related to the operation of heavy vehicles
  • The ability to troubleshoot technical issues with a solid understanding of safety procedures and protocols
  • Effective communication skills together with solid planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to identify root causes, problem solve and implement solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead a team through change
  • Ability to travel to regional sites
  • An exposure or experience working within the bulk liquids industry sector
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, especially within excel and the ability to quickly understand various technologies
