The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an Operations Manager to take charge of a close-knit team at Cleanaway’s Greenacre Post Collections site. With a team of four direct and thirteen indirect staff, this role offers a hands-on experience where you’ll oversee daily operations, drive process improvements, and foster a culture of safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the site, ensuring accurate timekeeping and attendance tracking.
  • Lead toolbox talks to communicate safety updates, operational goals, and key performance metrics to the team.
  • Analyse weighbridge data to ensure the accuracy of transactions and monitor intake gains and losses.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, working with contractors to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Suggest site improvements that enhance safety, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Oversee operations staff to maintain high-performance standards and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.

About You

  • Prior experience in a similar role within an industrial environment is desirable, but not necessary.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a small team and the ability to drive performance and engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead toolbox talks, engage team members, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in managing safety compliance, reviewing contractor documentation, and overseeing process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
