The Opportunity
Based in Malaga, WA, The Commercial Business Partner (CBP) is responsible for providing commercial support to the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) CFM and Regional Management teams, assisting the SBU achieve Group revenue and profit expectations. The CBP is responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting to Regional Management as well as decision support and commercial insight including executing planning, budgeting/forecasting and analysis.
- Provide timely and accurate guidance to the General Accounting team to ensure month-end activities relating to their respective Regions are reflected in the reported results
- Partner with primary regional teams to prepare regional plans and budgets in alignment with management guidelines and timetables, incorporating appropriate challenge and analysis
- Partner with the CFM and RM&A to improve price yield across the Strategic Business Unit
- Analyse trends and variances including rate and volume analyses to support the delivery of top-line growth along with the preparation of pricing models as required
- Analyse and review cost analysis covering allocation, cost benefit, volume, profit, client profitability and life cycle analysis to improve the quality of earnings
- Commercially model and review various tenders and contracts
About You
Our ideal candidate will be a high-energy individual with an inquisitive, rigorous mindset with proven financial and commercial experience in a complex, diverse, multi-site business.
- Experience in the development and monitoring of budgets in a complex business as well as business partnering skills to influence P/L performance
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner
- Ability to implement and maintain appropriate internal/financial controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting of a business
- CA or CPA qualified (or other)
- Financial knowledge around consolidation of results, financial and management accounting
- Working knowledge of business systems and processes in order to optimise and simplify business processes utilising technology
