The Opportunity

Based in Wingfield, SA, the Operations Manager is accountable for achieving targets for operating efficiencies, productivity, equipment utilisation and maintenance while ensuring that costs are controlled within budget and delivering required customer service levels across multiple Municipal contracts.

  • Deliver operational excellence across all contracts
  • Report all cost centre activities in line with required reporting schedules
  • Maintain compliance in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies
  • Contribute to revenue and EBITDA growth through strong customer and sales team relationships and effective financial controls
  • Identification and implementation of operational efficiencies to achieve exemplary customer service practices and meet contractual obligations within financial and operational targets
  • Ensure site equipment is purchased, maintained and operated appropriately in accordance with requirements, identify additional equipment needs to provide effective service delivery
  • Investigate, report and manage vehicle incidents/accidents, property damage and personal injury

 About You

Our ideal candidate will be a commercially focused, process-driven, people leader, ideally with waste industry experience, with excellent stakeholder management and reporting skills.

  • Business or Commerce degree or equivalent significant business-related experience
  • Management experience in waste collections industry is preferrable
  • Managing operational departments in a blue-collar environment
  • Leadership ability and track record in safety leadership and performance
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills – ability to manage expectations
  • Demonstrated experience with managing tight timeframes
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and communication channels with stakeholders
