ERHR Case Management Specialist

About the Role


As an ER/HR Case Management Specialist, you’ll independently manage a variety of HR cases, with a primary focus on leading workplace investigations from an employee relations perspective. From planning and evidence collection to detailed reporting, you’ll handle sensitive and complex matters with professionalism and care.

Your role will also involve providing advice across a variety of employee relations (ER) issues, ensuring best practices and compliance with legislation. Additionally, you’ll manage cases such as non-work-related injury or illness return-to-work processes and abandonment of employment, driving consistency and fairness across all processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workplace Investigations: Conduct independent workplace investigations, including planning, gathering evidence (emails, CCTV, witness statements, etc.), drafting allegations, and delivering comprehensive findings.
  • Case Management: Oversee non-work-related injury and illness cases and abandonment of employment matters, ensuring adherence to organisational standards and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), delivering expert ER advice and coaching while supporting broader disciplinary processes.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all practices align with workplace legislation and prepare detailed, accurate reports for each case.

About You


 You’re driven by the challenge of untangling complex issues and providing clarity through detailed investigation processes. You’re energised by a fast-moving environment and take pride in being the subject matter expert. While you don’t need to be involved in final outcomes, your meticulous approach ensures all your findings are thorough and actionable.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience managing complex workplace investigations
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing advice on a wide range of ER matters.
  • A background in employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) (although IR not essential), particularly in blue-collar or highly unionised environments.
  • Strong understanding of labour laws, workplace legislation, and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including collaborating effectively with stakeholders
  • Experience managing diverse HR cases, including injury management and abandonment of employment.
  • Legal experience or a background in employment law is highly desirable but not essential.
