The Opportunity
Join our Peakhurst depot as a Branch Manager, where you’ll lead waste collection and resource recovery services for a significant local council contract. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee service delivery, compliance, financial performance, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring that operations are efficient, safe, and aligned with sustainability goals.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Oversee the waste management contract, ensuring all KPIs and service levels are met.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operations staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the supervisor and drivers to maintain efficient daily operations.
- Champion safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and build a safety-first culture within the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage contract budgets, monitor costs, and drive efficiency improvements.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance service delivery and sustainability initiatives.
About You
You’re a hands-on leader with a strong focus on building the right culture and ensuring processes are followed consistently. You’re comfortable managing contracts, have exposure to Enterprise Agreements, and can confidently navigate challenging conversations when needed. You lead with clarity and accountability, bringing people with you while setting clear expectations and standards.
You’ll also bring:
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve performance goals
- Proven experience in an operations management role within a logistics or industrial environment (desirable)
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational optimisation
- Strong safety leadership, with functional knowledge of HSE legislation and safety management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
