Job Summary: The Academic Innovation Program Manager plans, coordinates, and implements the University of Alabama’s Tide to Success and UA ACTivate Initiatives. Leads the design, scheduling, and delivery of K-12 academic programming to strengthen ACT and SAT performance. Provides ACT and SAT preparatory curriculum aligned with national standards and UA academic excellence. Provides students with understanding of degree pathways, dual enrollment opportunities, and university access to high school students throughout the state of Alabama. Collects, analyzes, and reports data on student participation, test score improvement, college readiness indicators, and long-term outcomes for the university.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as the primary liaison among UA’s departments, ensuring seamless delivery of both in-person and online program components. Oversees curriculum development, participant engagement, instructor support, data tracking, and statewide outreach partnerships to expand educational access and support UA’s broader recruitment and retention goals.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to demonstrate poise and relate incredibly well with middle and high school students, parents, and educators. Ability to work with various groups of people. Ability to be a self-starter and an independent worker.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with K-12 leadership and/or college readiness programming. Data management and reporting experience (Excel, Qualtrics, Banner, or related systems). Experience with standardized test preparation (ACT or SAT). Experience managing summer camps, online programs, or pre-college initiatives. Knowledge of marketing strategies and enrollment management. Familiarity with learning management systems and online instructional tools.
