Job Summary: The Data Analyst II gathers, audits, analyzes, and reports moderate- to high-complexity data under moderate supervision. Ensures data integrity. May build dashboards or reporting systems for end users, perform ad-hoc analyses and reporting to inform decision-making, or design predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities. May provide guidance and training to entry-level Data Analysts.
Additional Department Summary: Designs, implements, and maintains robust data solutions that ensure accuracy, accessibility, and usability across the institution. Works extensively with systems such as Banner Student and Slate CRM, integrating data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights through reports and dashboards. Optimizes data workflows, improves system efficiency, and ensures data integrity through advanced query development and database management practices. Translates complex requirements into practical solutions that align with institutional priorities.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of data analysis experience; OR master's degree and some data analysis experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in developing and optimizing complex queries across major RDBMS platforms (Oracle, MS SQL Server), and strong experience with Power BI or similar BI tools for creating interactive dashboards and visualizations. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ETL processes and reporting in a higher education setting with hands-on experience using Banner Student and Slate CRM.
