First-Year Experience Assistant Director Gambier, OH
Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of First-Year Experience Assistant Director. The qualified candidate will have an excellent opportunity to assist in visioning and building a comprehensive First-Year Experience Program, an integral part of Kenyon’s Strategic Plan. The Assistant Director of the First-Year Experience will assist in the development, execution, and assessment of Orientation and First-Year Experience programming for new and transfer students. The Assistant Director works with partners across the College and draws upon national best practices and emerging trends in student transition, retention, and engagement. The Assistant Director will oversee Student and Family Summer Connection programming, assist in the coordination of Fall Orientation, and partner with the Director to build a comprehensive college-wide First-Year Experience Program. The Assistant Director will provide leadership for student staff selection and training, and developing a set of Orientation Engagement Community Opportunities. Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology Gambier, OH
Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2026. Faculty responsibilities include teaching a 3/2 course load over two semesters and informal advising of students, all in person on our campus in Gambier, Ohio. Courses to be taught include introduction to sociology; mid-level subfield survey courses appropriate for sophomores and juniors, and intermediate or upper-level seminars in the candidate’s area of expertise. 20th and 21st Century Global Anglophone Visiting Search Gambier, OH
Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a full-time, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of English in twentieth- and twenty-first global Anglophone literature, beginning July 2026. The candidate may focus on one or more specific regions (e.g. the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia) or on transnational networks or orientations (e.g. the Global South, Global Indigenous, the transatlantic, or the transpacific). We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are also practicing creative nonfiction or fiction writers. The teaching requirement will be 3:2 or 2:3 and will include courses at all levels of our curriculum. Visiting faculty also contribute to departmental life. Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level is required. Ph.D. preferred, but applicants who are ABD will be considered. A completed application must include 1) a cover letter detailing research interests, teaching experience, and teaching philosophy with information on experience with and plans for teaching diverse students; 2) a Curriculum Vitae; 3) an unofficial graduate transcript; and 4) a writing sample of up to 30 pages. NSF Postbaccalaureate Fellow in Chemistry Gambier, OH
The Kenyon College Chemistry Department is hiring for a full-time position in the laboratory of Prof. Getzler, funded through a grant from the NSF, to study controlled polymer degradation. This position designed for those intending to pursue graduate studies in synthetic chemistry. The Fellow will contribute to all research stages – including laboratory management, research design, literature searches, conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and writing reports and papers. Through this involvement, the Fellow will develop the skills necessary to succeed in a PhD program in chemistry. Assistant Director of Athletics Communications Gambier, OH
Kenyon College invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics Communications. This is a full-time, 10-month reporting position with benefits. Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics Communications, the Assistant is responsible for promoting the College’s twenty-three varsity athletics programs, as well as fitness and recreation programs, through written, verbal and electronic communications.
