The Team:
The W.P. Holman Clinic, Launceston, provides comprehensive specialist inpatient and outpatient Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services to the Northern Tasmanian community. This includes the state-wide brachytherapy service.
- The W.P Holman Clinic also plays an active role in cancer education and research within Tasmania.
- The Clinic is situated in the Launceston General Hospital complex and provides direct access to a range of medical, surgical and hospital services required to deliver quality, person-centred cancer care.
The successful applicant will:
- Manage the day-to-day delivery responsibilities of the administrative staff that support the Northern Cancer Service (NCS) at the Holman Clinic, Launceston General Hospital, Mersey Community Hospital Oncology and the North West Cancer Centre (NWCC).
- Build and maintain a team of administrative staff including coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and ensuring duties are undertaken efficiently and effectively across the NCS.
- Provide high level administrative support to the NCS Director, Nursing Director and Chief Radiation Therapist/Manager, and clinical staff.
- Provide advice and input into improving and implementing processes for the management of outpatients across the NCS including health information, patient coordination and billing.
Desirable skills - Proven experience in coordinating a team of administrative support staff.
Experience in performance review, management, benchmarking and Quality improvement
Demonstrated experience to work collaboratively as a member of a team

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, to commence as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Award/Agreement (Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award).

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Position Features:
This is an office-based position located at WP Holman Clinic, Launceston.
Travel to the North West Cancer Centre and the Oncology Unit at the Mersey Community Hospital will be required.
