Are you a dynamic and passionate individual driven to create an exceptional graduate student experience? Lehigh University, a leading research institution renowned for its academic excellence, is seeking a Graduate Life Program and Events Coordinator to join our vibrant Academic Affairs team.

As the Graduate Life Program and Events Coordinator, you'll collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and student organizations to identify and address the unique needs of our diverse graduate student population. Your creative vision and organizational skills will be instrumental in crafting memorable experiences that enrich the graduate student journey and promote their overall well-being. The Lehigh community takes seriously our commitment to antiracism and The Principles of our Equitable Community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organizes and creates orientation programs and transition to graduate school programs (30%)
• Plans, coordinates and implements orientation programming for incoming graduate students before fall and spring semesters.
• Plans and coordinates transition to graduate school workshops.
• Recruits and trains graduate student ambassadors to assist with orientation and transition programming.

2. Creates, coordinates, and hosts regularly scheduled programs, events, and activities (30%)
• Assists with planning and hosting existing regular programming.
• Proposes new events and activities for various graduate constituencies based on need, feedback, and survey results.
• Plans, organizes, and manages the five day Appreciation Week celebration in April.

3. Serves as liaison to campus departments, and the local community organizations to connect graduate students to supports and services. (30%)
• Serves as primary contact to staff from other support offices in order to develop and implement targeted programs and events.
• Develops programs for graduate student spouses and families.
• Connects students to community resources when appropriate.

4. Stays up-to-date on best practices that foster graduate student retention and success. (5%)
• Consults with the Graduate Student Senate Executive Board
• Reviews graduate experience surveys
• Reviews practices from peer institutions and national organizations

5. Designs, disseminates marketing and outreach materials to promote programming and request feedback (5%)
• Works to design promotional materials and surveys for all events and programs.
• Works with graduate assistant to maintain social media platforms

This position is a Grade: 8 - 37.5, offering an approximate salary of $43,290-$51,960 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications. The duties of this position may allow the employee to work partially remote as deemed appropriate by their supervisor. This position is responsible for driving University-owned vehicles as a routine function, therefore a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record is required. Persons with disabilities who anticipate needing an accommodation for any part of the interview or hiring process may contact Lehigh's Accommodations Specialist

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; Master's Degree in Higher Education preferred

• One to three years related work experience

• Understanding of the Masters and Doctoral educational experience a plus

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and project management abilities, with exceptional attention to detail
