Job Summary
The Department of Child and Adolescent Studies works to promote children's, adolescents', and families' well-being through teaching, research, and service. Our mission includes preparing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective professionals," with the goal of promoting student success through effective advisement and support and increasing student engagement through participation in high impact practices.
Under direct supervision, CAS Office Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized in various positions that typically require manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skills. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions.
Office Assistants will work under the direct supervision of the CAS office staff, completing the following tasks: Answering the Front Desk Phone Assisting Department Visitors Sorting/Picking Up/Delivery of Campus Mail Stocking/Maintain Inventory of Breakroom and Office Supplies Provide assistance to CAS department staff, faculty, and chair as needed on projects
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Required Qualifications
Current undergraduate student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
