Classification Range $16.90 - $24.00 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.90

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (atleast 16 hours per week, maximum 20 hours per week); Flexible schedule during weekdays.

Job Summary

The Student Assistant will assist the Office of the Vice President within the division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence by providing web design support to the Operations team under the supervision of the Communication and Event Specialist.

Students will assist with creating, editing, updating and posting graphic for social media posts across various platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook for HRIE social media accounts as well as HRIE's division website.

Additionally, they will assist with content and interviews for story profiles. 

Assist with creating graphics, promotional and communication materials for email, social, web and digital signage using Canva. Assist with the preparation of publications such as newsletters, brochures, posters, fliers, and presentations. All drafts will be reviewed by lead/supervisor. Assist with updating HRIE's division website and become familiar with the new OU5 web update.

Helping with department events, set-up, and day-of production as needed. Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Individuals in this position need to be self-motivated and able to manage time effectively across multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
