Position Summary:

Are you looking for a position that allows you to use your expertise to provide caring, compassionate treatment without the limitations of billing insurance? Are you looking for a fast paced, but highly supportive environment? The University of Dayton Counseling Center team is excited to welcome a passionate and dedicated team member to provide psychiatric care to our students.

As a member of the UDCC clinical team, the Psychiatric Provider will provide psychiatric care and medication management for students within the University community. The Psychiatric Provider works collaboratively with the psychiatrist to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, evaluate and manage medications, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide patient education, prepare medical records, and refer patients for inpatient care in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols regulating the profession. This role is an active part of the UDCC Clinical team and will work hand in hand with the therapists on staff. The Psychiatric Provider works under the supervision of the Psychiatrist and the Director of the University Counseling Center.

The Counseling Center actively contributes to the university's holistic approach to mental health and suicide prevention through integration of the UD Step Care Model and the Divison of Health and Wellbeing. To achieve success, the candidate must be dedicated to reducing barriers to care that exist for communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and a passion for working with college students. Further, a commitment to understand and support the University of Dayton's distinctive Marianist tradition and educational vision, as well as a willingness to model institutional values of service to others, community, and diversity are imperative.
