The Student Accounts Customer Service and Communication Specialist reports to the Assistant Director of Student Accounts and responsibilities include: • Manage and update ERP system (Banner) as it relates to accurate and timely student accounts billing. Knowledge of software and office functions to allow for accurate maintenance of payment plan tuition programs for students and the financial hold program processes. • Manage and maintain for the Office of Student Accounts, the website and course catalog financial data and policy updates. • Mass communication to students, families and university community from the Office of Student Accounts. • Balancing the cash vault daily. Banking responsibilities include daily ACH file transmittal, processing all returned items from the bank and the collections of past due student accounts.• Serve as the lead staff member responsible for performing the Office of Student Account procedures related to the return of federal aid to the Department of Education (Return to Title IV) • Assist with the fulfillment of the Graduate Assistant contracts to the student accounts. • Upload additional departmental charges to student accounts.
Associate degree or at least two years bookkeeping, or accounting experience One year experience in a customer service environmentProven ability to complete tasks with high degree of accuracy Knowledge of Gmail, Microsoft Office and intermediate level Excel skillsAbility to organize and complete work in a timely manner
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Associate degree in Accounting/FinanceExperience in a financial institution or a University Office of Student Accounts (Bursar)Knowledge of PDF editor app, Banner, Touchnet and other ERP SystemsWorking knowledge of website management and communicationDemonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment
