Join a dynamic team supporting the School of Psychology’s postgraduate programs at Deakin University.  Reporting to the School Manager, School of Psychology, the School Administrative Officer plays a key role in providing high-quality administrative support to academic staff, contributing to the effective delivery of Faculty outcomes and ensuring consistent processes and seamless support across the school.

This position is instrumental in supporting the School’s postgraduate suite of programs—including Clinical Psychology, Professional Psychology, Organisational Psychology, and Counselling—by assisting with course-related meetings, document organisation, schedule collation, and the field placement program. The role also supports broader administrative functions at the Burwood campus, including management of the test library.

 

As the School Administrative Officer you will:

  • Coordinate placement documentation for the school’s courses including verifying placement data, agreements and compliance requirements to ensure that all placements are in-line with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Utilise and maintain the placement management systems, InPlace and Placeright, to monitor student placements.
  • Respond to enquiries accurately and in a timely manner and handling confidential information sensitively, to facilitate effective communication flow between academic staff and professional staff, senior staff of the University and external parties.
  • Assist in the selection of the school’s courses and provide accurate and timely advice to applicants and staff.
  • Support university governance, including work instructions, procedures and guidelines to enable and support the delivery of operations.
  • Provide administrative support as required for the Burwood campus including the test library.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience or extensive relevant experience and specialist knowledge or
  • Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in operating in a high-pressure diverse environment, involving face to face, phone, and written issue.
  • Experience providing services and support in a large organisation.
