Welcome to an outstanding opportunity to join the Lower Colorado River Authority as a Sr. Category Manager in Austin, TX! As part of this team, you will define and deploy sourcing strategies that limit risks and optimize value for LCRA. You will have the opportunity to build and maintain internal partnerships to ensure category strategy alignment with overall business objectives. This role is pivotal in using supplier relationships to achieve competitive purchasing advantages to achieve our strategic objectives.

You will be trusted to:

- Perform advanced market analysis and industry intelligence research, conduct benchmarking inquiries and remain abreast of market developments
- Synthesize internal and external data to present reports that mitigate risk and improve decision making, value and cost savings
- Conduct sourcing events for complex, high risk, high spend categories
- Deploy expert techniques and aid the department in overall strategy development
- Mentor colleagues with less experience and direct the work of other staff members
- Serve as a subject matter expert in strategic sourcing

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in procurement, vendor management or project management or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in business, supply management, finance, economics or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

- Experience deploying a category strategy to source and procure complex goods, commodities or services
- Experience independently drafting, negotiating and administering high volume purchase contracts
- Experience leveraging and improving supplier performance
- Experience developing and managing stakeholder relationships
- Understanding of materials planning, inventory management and logistics
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives
