If you enjoy serving local communities and making positive impacts in the world, using your technical knowledge and skills, then we have an opportunity for you as an intermediate experience level Relay Technician! In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair protective relays and related equipment. You will work with a team of expert technicians to ensure the reliability of our electric grid.
You will be trusted to:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and systems. - Install, maintain, and test protective relays and other electrical equipment. - Provide technical support to other LCRA employees and customers. - Maintain and update knowledge of electrical protection testing principles and practices. - Work independently and as part of a team. - Meet all safety and quality standards.

You qualify with:
- Three or more years of experience in the construction and/or maintenance of power substation protection, diagnostic, monitoring and/or control systems or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license

- Commissioning and maintaining protective devices in electric transmission substations operating above 69kV experience - Electro-mechanical and microprocessor-based protective relays experience - Doble F6150 test sets and Enoserv RTS testing software experience
