The Opportunity
A Post Doctoral is expected to carry out independent and team research within the field in which they are appointed and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to the particular field of research. This appointee will engage in digital health research projects within a multidisciplinary team of impact-focused researchers working at the intersection of public health, communities, technology, and social innovation. The role comprises two primary responsibilities: the development of digital health tools and the preparation of scientific research manuscripts for publication.
Reporting Line: The position reports to Deputy Director of Action Lab: Malaysia.

Position Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leading high-quality, independent, and collaborative research in digital health and producing peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers as primary research outputs.
2. Driving publication strategies, including targeting high-impact journals, coordinating co-authorship within international research consortia, and contributing to dissemination plans linked to funded projects.
3. Coordinating administrative and organisational activities directly related to research projects and associated resources within Action Lab: Malaysia.
4. Developing research-related materials to support dissemination, knowledge translation, and stakeholder engagement activities, with appropriate guidance from senior staff.
5. Making occasional contributions to teaching and supervision activities that align with the fellow’s research projects and expertise in digital health.
6. Attending meetings associated with research projects, international collaborations, and the work of the organisational unit, as well as relevant departmental, school, faculty, or committee meetings.
7. Providing research advice and methodological support within the field of digital health to postgraduate research students.
8. Identifying competitive national and international funding opportunities and contributing to grant development and submission processes, with the expectation that the postdoctoral research fellow will secure external funding as a principal investigator or co-investigator.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. PhD (awarded or near completion) in digital health, health informatics, public health, health sciences, data science, information systems, human–computer interaction, or a closely related discipline, with a strong technology-enabled health or applied research component.
2. Demonstrated research experience in digital health, health technologies, or technology-enabled health interventions, including design, implementation, or evaluation of digital systems.
3. Demonstrated methodological expertise in one or more of the following: digital health evaluation, health informatics, qualitative or mixed-methods research, user-centered design, implementation science, or health technology assessment.
4. Evidence of scholarly productivity, including authorship or co-authorship of peer-reviewed journal articles and/or conference publications
5. High-level organizational skills, with demonstrated capacity to establish and achieve goals.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Demonstrated examples of producing high-quality critical literature reviews
