The Opportunity

A Level B research fellow is expected to contribute to the university’s research efforts and to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.

Intake24 is an open-source self-completed online dietary assessment system based on multiple-pass 24-hour recall. First developed for Food Standards Scotland and now used in the UK government’s National Diet & Nutrition Survey and the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Intergenerational Health & Mental Health Survey, the system has been adapted for a number of other countries, including Portugal, Denmark, Brazil, Australia and Japan. This project will adapt and validate the system for use in Malaysia.

This fellowship is funded by both the UKRI (Medical Research Council) and Monash University (Australia) and involves both the validation and refinement of Intake24: Malaysia and supporting collaborators in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand (and four African countries) in collaboration with Monash University (Australia) and Newcastle University (UK). You will also have the opportunity co-supervise PhD students, and lead and contribute to publications at leading scientific venues.

This is both an exciting and career-defining opportunity for an ambitious post-doctoral researcher, and an opportunity to have a long-term impact on the health and well-being of Malaysian society.

This role is a full-time position.

Reporting Line: The position reports to Principal Investigator (Malaysia)
