About the role:
This is a unique permanent opportunity for Senior BA to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. The Chapter consists of around 290 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing.
You will work with business units and T&O customers, prioritising and refining requirements to ensure accurate and complete information for downstream teams. The role requires a mix of technical and business skills, leaning towards technical, to effectively triage and capture the details of business technology requests before passing them to the appropriate teams. Strong BA experience, knowledge of infrastructure and technology concepts, and the ability to handle queries and escalate issues effectively are essential.

What you’ll do:
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams and business stakeholders to gather, validate and document business requirements and develop recommendations and solutions that meet business and customer needs.
- Facilitate scoping and prioritisation conversations, triaging and pathing to most appropriate team.
- Use information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements and synthesise information accurately, completely, and coherently.
- Work close with squad / project members, including but not limited to Solution Architects, Delivery lead, Scrum Master, systems engineers and Business stakeholders to identify, capture, plan and deliver the scope of work.
- Create detailed user stories to support delivery as required.
- Document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Raise, and support mitigation and resolution of, risks and issues using established tools and frameworks were applicable.
- Suncorp offers a hybrid way of working where you will be expected to be in the office approx. 2 days per week.
What you’ll bring:
- ESSENTIAL: Minimum 5 years’ business analysis experience from a large organisation working on significant programs
- A background in the Insurance industry would be beneficial
- Knowledge of infrastructure and technology concepts
- The ability to handle queries and escalate issues effectively
- Minimum 3 years’ Agile, Lean and waterfall experience including knowledge of Agile practices, workshops, and Agile ceremonies facilitation
- Must be able to translate and understand business and technical requirements and provide appropriate alternatives and solutions to meet those requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills including experience in dealing with various levels of stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to make a difference
- Must be able to manage multiple complex initiatives with competing deadlines, while also working autonomously.
