Join Our Team as a Clinical Senior Occupational Therapist – Lead Care Innovation in Aged Health

Are you passionate about improving the quality of life for older people in residential care? This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior clinical role where your expertise, leadership and innovation will make a real difference in supporting patients, families and care providers across the region.

About the Role:

As a Clinical Senior Occupational Therapist with the Geriatric Outreach Service (GOS), you will play a key role in supporting older patients within residential aged care facilities, helping to prevent unnecessary hospital transfers. Working closely with Geriatricians, Nursing staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide patient-centred care for individuals experiencing memory loss and Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).

Your responsibilities will include developing and actioning management plans to enhance patient well-being, supporting integration of care across sites, and providing complex clinical and consultancy services. You will also act as a mentor and clinical supervisor, guiding less experienced Occupational Therapists, supporting clinical education for students, and contributing to research and evaluation activities. As part of the Occupational Therapy Network, you will lead service improvements, represent RMCLHN on relevant committees, and contribute to projects that drive better outcomes for patients and communities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within the Occupational Therapy profession and be eligible for practicing membership of the relevant Professional Association. For those professions requiring Registration, all requirements to obtain and maintain current registration must be fulfilled. For self-regulated professions it is desirable to participate in the professional association accredited continuing professional development program.
  • A higher qualification in a relevant area such as health service and/or professional specialisation/clinical education will be highly regarded.
