About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and service-focused individual to lead the delivery of high-quality HR administration services across the organisation in the position of HR Administration Team Leader.

Reporting to the HR Manager, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day work of the HR Administration team, supervising three direct reports, and ensuring HR transactional matters are processed accurately, efficiently and within required timeframes.

Working closely with Shared Services SA, other teams within SAAS HR and Workforce Services more broadly, the role supports the delivery of responsive and practical HR services to SAAS employees and leaders.

We are looking for someone with extensive HR administration and/or payroll experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You will bring a positive, can-do attitude, a strong customer service focus, empathy and judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

You will be closely supported by the HR Manager and broader HR team, whilst being provided with autonomy to make the role and team your own.

Formal leadership experience is desirable but not essential. We are equally interested in applicants who can demonstrate leadership qualities, including the ability to support others, coordinate work, solve problems and maintain a positive and collaborative team environment.

Key selection criteria

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • extensive experience in HR administration and/or payroll within a medium to large organisation (experience in public sector desirable but not essential);
  • a positive, can-do attitude, empathy and a dedication to exceptional customer service;
  • excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships;
  • strong analytical and professional judgement skills, including the ability to solve problems and work independently;
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to work accurately to tight timeframes and under pressure;
  • effective teamwork and collaboration skills; and
  • demonstrated leadership qualities, with formal leadership experience desirable but not essential.
