Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.
Additional Department Summary: The Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in industrial ecology and sustainability research.
Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Statistics, or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. The College and/or the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.
This position will be expected to conduct research in the areas of industrial ecology and environmental engineering under the supervision of Dr. Daqian Jiang.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge in statistical modeling and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with material flow analysis, life cycle assessment, GIS, and greenhouse gas emission inventory.
