Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings & weekends as necessary.
Job Summary: The Social Worker II plans, coordinates, and delivers moderate-complexity clinical services to clients.
Additional Department Summary: The Institute for Social Science Research advances interdisciplinary research and service initiatives addressing complex public health and social challenges across Alabama.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work and two (2) years of experience as a social worker. Licensed Social Worker by the State of Alabama OR license eligible to practice social work in the State of Alabama and the ability to obtain licensure within one (1) year from date of hire. Proficiency in the operation of personal computers.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent clinical documentation skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work in interdisciplinary, data-informed environments.
Preferred Qualifications: Veteran status or significant experience working with military veterans. Experience with traumatic brain injury, neurological, or cognitive conditions. Experience in justice-involved or complex systems of care. Familiarity with research, program evaluation, or medical systems. Experience with trauma-informed and brain-injury-informed clinical practice. Experience with care coordination across behavioral health, medical, and community systems.
