Lehigh University seeks a dynamic and experienced professional for the Exempt Staff Full-time position of Deputy Director, Iacocca Institute within the International Affairs department. This strategic leadership role is an exciting opportunity to shape the global footprint of a top-ranked research university.

As the Deputy Director of the Iacocca Institute, you will provide visionary guidance and operational oversight for a diverse portfolio of programs, including the prestigious Iacocca International Internship Program. In close collaboration with the Executive Director, you will set and drive goals that advance Lehigh University's global mission, fostering partnerships both domestically and internationally to expand opportunities for students and elevate the university's worldwide presence. The Lehigh community takes seriously our commitment to antiracism and The Principles of our Equitable Community.

Position Number: S80710

This position is a Grade: 12 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $101,780-$123,810 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and execute the strategic vision for Iacocca Institute programming.
• Provide strategic leadership for the Iacocca International Internship (IIIP) program ensuring that the IIIP aligns well with the strategy of the Iacocca Institute, the Office of International Affairs, and Lehigh University.
• Develop new internship models and creatively identify sources to generate an annually balanced internship portfolio that includes research, industry, and service experiences and considers criteria such as location, academic discipline, and student interests.
• Supervise and provide leadership to selected institute staff, including but not limited to, the Assistant Director of the International Internship Program, and the Program Manager for the Global Village, and others as assigned, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Establish and maintain relationships with international organizations, businesses, and academic institutions to create program and internship opportunities.
• Assist the Executive Director and Administrative Manager in preparing budgets and managing the funding related to Iacocca Institute programs.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, as well as local and international laws and regulations, related to Iacocca Institute programs and internships.

Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in International Education, Social Sciences (leadership development), Business Administration or a related field; Doctorate Degree is preferred.
• Eight or more years of work experience in international education, program management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Seasoned international educator with extensive international programming and teaching experience in leadership development, international education, or a subject related to institute programming.
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing international internship programs or experiential learning programs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Knowledge of best practices and trends in international education and internship programs.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Please note the expected start date for this position is on or after July 1st 2025. The duties of the position do not allow for a remote work option; the employee in this position will be required to work on campus where they can be fully accessible to the Lehigh community. This position is based on campus with occasional international and domestic travel required. Evening and weekend work may be necessary to accommodate summer and intersession program schedules, international time zones or events. This position works with minors. This position is responsible for driving University-owned vehicles as a routine function, therefore a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record is required.
