Are you a wordsmith with a passion for crafting compelling narratives? Lehigh University is seeking a talented Writer to join our dynamic Development and Alumni Relations team. In this pivotal role, you'll play a crucial part in shaping the university's voice and fostering lasting connections with our esteemed alumni and donors.
Position Number: S80600
This position is a Grade: 9 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $50,200 - $67,180 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
As a Writer, you'll have the opportunity to flex your creative muscles by producing captivating content for a variety of mediums, including print and electronic publications, web pages, brochures, case statements, presentations, speeches, alumni and donor features, event stories, and donor correspondence. Your words will breathe life into Lehigh's stories, inspiring and engaging our community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Craft compelling content across diverse platforms, from publications to web pages and speeches
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their vision and translate it into engaging narratives
• Conduct research, interviews, and fact-gathering to ensure accuracy and depth in your writing
• Copyedit and proofread materials to maintain consistent brand voice and high editorial standards
• Project manage the creation of publicity materials, programs, and presentations for public events
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three to five years of related work experience
• Strong command of grammar and written communication is essential
• Experience with multimedia production (photography, video, or web design) is a plus
