This position is a Grade: 11 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $82,670-$100,570 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
In this integral role, your key responsibilities will include:
• Ensure uptime and availability - Maintain a highly available and reliable data center environment, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity. This includes proactive monitoring of critical systems, rapid response to incidents, and effective problem resolution.
• Manage and maintain data center infrastructure, including:
- Power distribution systems (UPS, generators, PDUs)
- Environmental controls (HVAC, cooling systems)
- Physical security systems (access control, surveillance)
- Fire suppression systems
• Disaster recovery planning - Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery plan. Conduct regular drills and tests to ensure the data center can recover effectively from outages or disasters.
• Supervise and mentor data center technicians and other staff. Set clear performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback to help team members excel.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data center vendors. Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate favorable contracts and ensure vendors meet their obligations. Perform needs assessment, research and evaluation, and selection of vendors based on evaluation criteria. Oversee vendor maintenance activities and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Data processing, Computer/technology operations, a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Five to eight years of related work experience
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and strategic planning abilities
