Overview:

The School of Business at Quinnipiac University invites applications for one tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Management with an expected start date of Fall 2025. Priority will be given to applicants with backgrounds in sport management, sport leadership, sport analytics, or sport operations. If the need arises, candidates may be called upon to teach in areas such as OB/Management, leadership or operations.

Management faculty teach in both traditional in-person and online modalities and incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches into their teaching. This position is part of the School's strategic plan to transform the existing majors in response to industry trends. You will be involved in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer/impact in the field of Management, broadly defined.

The faculty of the Management Department have diverse research and practice interests, covering a wide range of topics in negotiations and conflict management, project management, operations, human resources, and pedagogy among others. They are deeply engaged in their research and with students in the classroom, innovative in their approaches to scholarship and pedagogy, and dedicated to the mission of the school and university.   

The Management majors and minors programs combine strong academic scholarship and rigorous theoretical and empirical research with immersive, practice-based learning opportunities for students. The faculty of the Management Department publish regularly in journals on the ABDC list and in Scopus.

The school supports excellence in pedagogy and research through a multitude of resources including Behavioral Insights Lab, the Terry Goodwin ’67 Financial Technology Center, and Sales Center. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach high quality, innovative, and experientially oriented courses both on-ground and online in the various sub-domains of Management. Prepare and deliver engaging course content and classroom activities. Compile, administer, and grade assignments/ examinations in a timely fashion
  • Conduct and maintain an active research agenda that results in quality journal publications as defined in our School of Business Standards
  • Contribute active and engaged service to the department, school, and university
  • Provide high quality academic advising and mentorship to students and contribute to the support of school and department level co-curricular activities
  • Contribute to the support of the department’s student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Contribute to the overall supportive culture of the School of Business by participating in workshops, retreats, and other relevant activities

Education Requirements:

  • A PhD in Management or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited Business School or a research-oriented program. Candidates who are ABD with potential for high-quality teaching and a clear deadline for completion are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Scholarly activity to maintain Quinnipiac School of Business AACSB Scholarly Academic criteria.
  • Demonstrated excellence of teaching effectiveness in classroom environments for undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the areas of Management. 
  • Previous teaching and professional experience in the sport management field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness both online and on-ground.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and populations and a commitment to inclusive excellence.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to a supportive and collegial work environment.
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
