Responsibilities:
  • Support the Office of Graduate Student Affairs with the development and implementation of programming and events that support and provide opportunities for all enrolled graduate students, both online and on-ground.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Graduate Student Advisory Board providing guidance and support to the representatives. Meet with members of the advisory board on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Serve as a chaperone for off campus trips if necessary.
  • Event support during all major GSA events such as (but not limited to) Holiday Dinner, Oktoberfest, Grad Appreciation Week, and welcome back socials.
  • Develop, execute, and assess professional development opportunities in collaboration with other GSA graduate assistants.
  • Organize, prepare, and execute health and wellness related events for the North Haven and Mount Carmel Campus.
    • These can include active and passive programming for both the on-ground and virtual student population.
    • Communicate with HHC partners and facilities to reserve campus space for Wellness related events and activities.
  • Designing engaging content for print and social media
  • Collaborate content ideas and work closely with other Graduate Assistants and/or staff.
  • Manage Deadlines and complete projects ahead of schedule.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, including table and equipment reservations, booking rooms, and lockers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administration

  • Assume role and responsibilities as a para-professional staff member of the Office of Graduate Student Affairs.
  • Assist with graduate open houses, graduate orientation, and other events.
  • Meet with supervisor regularly.
  • Serve on departmental committees as assigned.
  • Uphold University policies and procedures as outlined in the Graduate Student Handbook.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Enrolled as a graduate student at an accredited institution and in good standing.

    • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required.
    • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
    • Ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and to exhibit a positive, helpful attitude.
    • Ability to work and maintain focus during “downtimes” as well as in a high-volume, high-energy environment.
Hours of Position:
  • 15 hrs per week
