About the Position:
The Student Health and Counseling Center strives to support students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. Maintaining an optimal level of wellness is crucial for living a higher quality life and reaching your highest potential. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Marketing and Outreach Specialist (Public Affairs Communication Specialist I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under the direction of the Director for TitanHEALTH and leadership of the Senior Lead of Marketing, Outreach, and Design, the Marketing and Outreach Specialist develops and implements communication, public affairs and/or marketing programs, outreach, and engagement initiatives that promote clinical services, health education and promotion programs, and confidential advocacy services. The initiatives include social media scheduling, marketing and communications, promotional materials, oversight of student employees, workshops, trainings, events, and participation on department committees. The Marketing and Outreach Specialist supervises graduate and undergraduate students on the Marketing, Outreach, and Design team. Supports collaborations with campus partners such as the Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers, Housing and Residential Engagement, and student organizations that seek to address and raise awareness of TitanHEALTH services and programs. The Marketing and Outreach Specialist may represent TitanHEALTH among on-campus workgroups or committees that address health and wellbeing. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
|
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field and up to two years or related professional or technical experience. Knowledge of the fundamentals of public affairs, as well as some exposure to marketing and marketing research. Knowledge of basic web communication techniques, vehicles and formats. Ability to maintain cooperative and cordial relations with individuals and/or groups while obtaining, interpreting, and disseminating information about activities, programs, and objectives of an organization. Strong written and verbal communications skills with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and modern English usage. Must possess the ability to manage people, solve problems, and coordinate activities where direct supervision is shared.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications
|
Knowledge of campus and community resources for students. Experience supervising students, interns, or volunteers. Participation in allyship trainings or willingness to participate in on-campus ally trainings after hiring. Knowledge and experience with social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), and creative design programs/software (Canvas, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, etc.). Forward thinker in recruitment, outreach, and marketing for a major university. Ability to use standard office equipment and software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to exercise tact, discretion, and good judgment, and handle sensitive and confidential information; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and possess strong computer skills including word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
