Technical Officer in the Department of Data and Systems Engineering (Ref.: 530660) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefit scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines. Relevant post-degree work experience and/or postgraduate research experience would be an advantage. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good interpersonal and communication skills; be self-motivated, highly organized and a good team leader. Knowledge and skills in one or more areas in embedded system software and hardware development, digital twin, cyber-physical systems, 3D printing, robotics, enterprise information systems (ERP, WMS, etc.), service engineering, and industrial/business applications of mobile, web, smart card, RFID, and IoT technologies would be advantageous.
The appointee will support all aspects of laboratory development and technical supports/services for teaching and research activities in the Department, as well as the development and delivery of capstone and experiential learning courses at Bachelor of Engineering programme. He/She will also be expected to coordinate the maintenance work of laboratories, set up facilities in new laboratories, provide IT support to the Department and perform other duties as assigned including providing support at the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing.
