The Senior Officer, Student Success (Fairness) is responsible for operational processes related to ensuring fairness for students. This role ensures that students and staff are supported in upholding student fairness and integrity standards, handles cases, and delivers guidance on established processes. The role will also support Specialists and Senior Advisers in the Student Fairness team on complex matters, programs, or initiatives related to student fairness.
As a Senior Officer, Student Success (Fairness), you will:
- Manage day-to-day operations related to functions of the student fairness team, including student complaints handling, processing student appeals and special consideration applications, investigating allegations of student misconduct/ breaches of student academic integrity, and supporting the various Faculty and University committees associated with these functions.
- Collaborate with University stakeholders to ensure that relevant policies are applied consistently and fairly across the University.
- Provide practical support and clear communication to students regarding student fairness requirements.
- Ensure timely and consistent handling of student fairness cases, working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve issues within established procedures.
- Maintain strong relationships with academic departments and other University units, ensuring open communication and efficient resolution of student fairness matters.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in higher education student administration.
- Knowledge of working in complex policy and program environments such as academic integrity, complaints, appeals, special consideration or conduct and success fairness within a higher education environment.
