The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Catering Manager to lead our hospitals catering department, ensuring the delivery of quality meals and exceptional services to our patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires a blend of operational management, team leadership and commitment to food safety and quality. You will be creative and innovative in terms of delivery a high-quality menu for patients, doctors, and staff.
Your duties in this role will include:
- Managing daily operations: oversee the daily production and delivery of a high-volume of meals per day, ensuring functions run smoothly and efficiently.
- Lead and mentor a team of catering staff.
- Oversee food quality control, adhering to safety standards including OHS and HACCP regulations.
- Responsible for the catering services financial and operational management, including budgeting, cost control and financial reporting. This includes managing purchasing, inventory, and stock control to minimise expenses and maximise efficiency.
- Stock management.
- Organising and managing catering for functions and events
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will also be punctual, reliable and with a commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.
- Skilled leader with Operational Experience. You have a solid background in catering or hospitality management, with proven skills in running high-volume operations.
- Chef trade qualifications with experience in managing large scale catering operations.
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
- You have an in-depth Knowledge of HACCP Principles and the proven ability to manage the food safety program.
- Previous experience in hospitality management, with skills in staff scheduling, menu development, line management, ordering and upholding safety standards.
