A Natural Resource Specialist III (Wildlife Biologist) fulltime (40hours/week) classified staff position is available with the Virginia Tech Conservation Management Institute to support a variety of ongoing research and management projects at Marine Corps Base- Quantico, Virginia. The position will be located at Marine Corps Bas-Quantico, Virginia near Stafford, Virginia.
1)A B.S. in Botany, Biology, Ecology, Wildlife Sciences, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field; Or equivalent experience 2). Demonstrated experience in the management and performance of field sampling and natural resource survey techniques. 3). Experience navigating over rough terrain using topography maps, GPS and compass and must be willing to work in adverse weather and field conditions. 4). Demonstrated expertise in basic ecological and wildlife survey protocols. 5). Experience with Global Positioning Systems and ESRI based GIS software a plus. 6). Ability to perform basic statistical analysis of field data and report findings of research through written and oral communication. 7). Valid Drivers License.
1). Masters degree in in Botany, Biology, Ecology, Wildlife Sciences, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field. 2)Experience in operating equipment commonly used in conservation and land management such as boats, chain saws, weed and brush cutters, agricultural tractors, front-end loader, bull dozers, soil tillage and planting implements, off-road vehicles, and trucks.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
