Join a student-focused team dedicated to shaping the future of early childhood education. We’re seeking a knowledgeable and passionate educator to teach and mentor students in Child Development degree and certificate pathways. With a strong foundation in early childhood theories and best practices - including Developmentally Appropriate Practice, assessment, classroom management, and curriculum design - you will help prepare students for careers supporting young children and families.

In addition to classroom instruction, you’ll advise students, supervise practicum experiences, and maintain strong connections with early childhood education partners across North Idaho. This role includes conducting site visits, supporting CDA credential preparation, and contributing to professional development activities at the NIC Children’s Center. You'll also collaborate on statewide initiatives and represent the college in early learning consortiums and community organizations.

This position requires excellent communication, the ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners, and a deep commitment to student success. Your expertise will guide the next generation of early childhood educators and strengthen the region’s capacity to support children in their most critical years of development.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Child Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, Early Childhood Education or related area with a strong emphasis in early childhood (birth through age eight). Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Starting pay range: $50,834 - $70,554

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: This tenure track position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
