North Idaho College is seeking a compassionate and experienced Assistant Director of Counseling Services to help lead our campus mental health efforts and support student well-being. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Director to provide leadership to the department, including supervision of licensed counselors, practicum students, and interns. You’ll ensure quality, ethical care through strong clinical oversight, accurate documentation, and effective use of the department’s electronic records system.

You’ll provide direct mental health services, including assessment, brief counseling, crisis response, and referral - always with cultural sensitivity and an understanding of lifespan development. You'll support students navigating a range of issues, from self-injury and substance use to anger management, stress, and relationship challenges. This role is also responsible for data tracking, program review, strategic planning, and outreach to increase mental health awareness and reduce stigma on campus.

We’re looking for a licensed mental health professional with strong leadership, supervisory, and crisis intervention skills. The ideal candidate understands best practices in mental health care, maintains up-to-date knowledge of professional laws and ethics, and can build effective partnerships on and off campus. Strong written and verbal communication, the ability to present trainings, and a team-oriented mindset are essential. Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work is required. A minimum of 4 years full-time equivalent related experience, including experience with assessment and management of mental health issues for adults is required.

Required License and/or Certifications:
Must hold a current and unrestricted license or be eligible for LPC or LMSW in State of Idaho

Starting pay range: $59,293 - $71,152
Pay Grade:

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: typical college hours are Mon-Thurs 7:3--5:00, Fri 7:30-2:30
