The Opportunity
The IR Manager will provide senior level industrial relations support and expertise across the organisation, ensuring compliant and commercially sound workplace practices. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders, employees and unions to manage risk, resolve disputes and continuously strengthen IR frameworks, payroll compliance and organisational capability. Responsibilities will include:
- IR leadership on high volume enterprise bargaining including tactical planning, strategy, negotiation, disputes, applications and other bargaining-related responsibilities
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with employee groups, union representatives, government bodies and key stakeholders
- Managing IR disputes
- Managing end-to-end payroll compliance matters
- Supporting internal payroll and IR compliance function
- Supporting the development of the IR capability of the HR team and broader leadership
- Continuously improving the IR frameworks and systems
- Managing identified IR issues/risks/disputes by providing proactive and practical advice that sustains a profitable, productive and harmonious working environment
About You
- Senior level consultancy and/or advisory industrial relations experience
- Demonstrated experience in the successful support, development and implementation of IR strategies, tactical plans, frameworks, systems and processes
- A commercial and strategic IR mind-set, with a wide knowledge of employment and IR matters
- Experience in operation of awards and agreements, acquisitions, and change management
- Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management
- Confident in managing IR disputes and end-to-end compliance matters
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, IR, Human Resources or a related discipline
- Proven capability in managing complex IR matters and enterprise bargaining in large, complex organisations
- Minimum 5+ years (or equivalent) relevant experience
