Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Office Coordinator in the Office of Residential Life. This is is an 11 month position with benefits and the hourly rate of pay is $17.96. The Office Coordinator is a member of the Office of Residential Life, reporting directly to the Director of Residential Life and supports the mission of the College by overseeing the day-to-day management of the Residential Life office suite.
The Office of Residential Life provides leadership, goals, and program implementation for Kenyon’s residential communities, housing operations, facility and occupancy management, and new student programs. Professional staff members and student leaders work together to cultivate safe and inclusive living communities. Kenyon’s fully-residential housing program includes 30 different residential spaces from traditional residence halls to apartments and suites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as a member of the Residential Life team responsible for providing leadership, goals, and program implementation for approximately 1800 undergraduate students.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate 4-6 undergraduate Front Desk Workers.
- Maintain Residential Life digital presence via website, social media, Reach screens, written publications, posters, and KCon.
- Coordinate staff onboarding and training (office, computer, and phone line set-up, business cards, name tags, etc.).
- Keep office suite organized, manage supply inventory, and submit maintenance requests.
- Assist in coordinating the break housing process.
- Effectively coordinate and communicate with residents to ensure their needs are met and their experiences are positive by managing Residential Life correspondence through email and phone.
- Co-manage the Apartment and Suite housing selection process.
- Assist in processing all Student Success and Support Services for housing accommodations, including funding coordination for accommodation purchases.
- Assist in the development and implementation of college policies and expectations.
- Assist with the coordination and effective implementation of administrative processes, including but not limited to, residence hall openings/closings, room inspections and the housing selection process.
- Planning staff recognition and staff development events for the Office of Residential Life.
- Assist with the management of auxiliary spaces, both current and future.
- Conduct other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Life.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The Residential Life Office Coordinator will have 2-3 years of professional office experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Candidates must have an appreciation for the value of a residential, liberal arts education and should possess energy and enthusiasm for working with undergraduate students. The successful candidate will also possess strong skills in organizational management, task completion, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, Google products, Campus Reports, and Banner data management system is highly desirable. Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs, unassisted.
