Job description:

As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.

The Team:

As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.

The Role:

  • Carry out assessments, treatments and provide clinical care to individuals referred to the team in collaboration with other team members. This will include the application of a wide range of skills and interventions.
  • Act as a medical and psychiatric resource for other team members.
  • Seek appropriate clinical support and supervision from senior colleagues, the Director or Delegate.
  • Promote and maintain close links with colleagues and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care. Liaise with other community service providers, especially GP’s.
  • Participate in medical student teaching and in-service training of staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of care in all respects, including agency endorsed documentation and participation in quality improvement activities. May be asked to represent the Department at meetings.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary:

Career Medical Officers Level 1 - 7 $128,750 - $183,340 per annum, + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available

  • Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year
  • Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $5,305 per annum
  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

  • Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.
