Lead the team to manage and coordinate procurement related activities at EnergyCo to enable

the transformation of the NSW electricity system

 

  • Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Based in Sydney CBD, & Hybrid working from home and office supported
  • Salary ranges from $172,121 to $191,993 plus super and leave loading

 

EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.


About the Opportunity


Our EnergyCo NSW Finance & Operations team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Manager Procurement.

 

The Senior Manager, Procurement leads EnergyCo’s end-to-end procurement and contracting services, providing a centre of excellence function that supports enterprise procurement and major infrastructure delivery.

This role is responsible for developing and embedding robust procurement and contract management frameworks, policies and processes, while leading a centralised procurement advisory and services team.

You will ensure procurement strategies and plans are compliant with NSW Government and EnergyCo policies, manage risk effectively, and enable the successful delivery of EnergyCo’s programs and projects.

This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced procurement professional who can balance strong governance with practical, outcome‑driven delivery in a fast‑paced environment.

About You

 

You are an experienced procurement leader with a strong understanding of public sector governance and a track record of enabling successful project and program delivery. You bring:

 

  • Deep expertise in procurement and contract management frameworks, ideally within government or large, complex organisations.
  • Experience leading sourcing strategies, supplier panels and complex contract negotiations.
  • Strong risk, probity and performance management capability.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to build capability and foster a high‑performing team culture.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the credibility to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience leading the sourcing, contract and risk management activities of complex and high value procurement activities.

 

Essential Requirements

  •  Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Who we are?

 The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
