Responsible for developing and maintaining access to useful, accurate and timely information within Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) via ad hoc data requests, reports, dashboards and CRM user interfaces. In addition to providing access to information within DAR, this position will fulfill the strategic and operational DAR related information needs of the University, including support of colleagues across all University STEMs and at all levels. Success in this position will require collaboration with University constituents and third parties to identify, develop, enhance and implement short and long-term information access solutions. 1. Design, develop, test and maintain information access solutions such as reports, dashboards, visualizations and CRM user interfaces that support Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) and DAR-related operations, planning and decision making
*Execute governance and administration of the information access solutions utilized by DAR and the University for DAR-related purposes
*Collect and interpret information access solution requests and requirements from non-technical users
*Ensure information access solutions maximize ease-of-use by non-technical users
*Ensure information access solutions adhere to University and team processes and standards, are easily understood, modified and maintained by other team members
*Investigate and resolve issues with information access solutions as identified by non-technical users
*Modify information access solutions in response to changes in industry, University, team processes, standards and objectives
*Provide information analysis (trends, correlations, relationships, etc…) to support DAR and University decisions
*Assist and advise DAR and other University constituents on the best practices for utilizing DAR information access solutions to achieve their goals

2. Ensure the quality and compliance of information presented via information access solutions
*Ensure information access solutions provide accurate, complete and timely information
*Develop and perform testing of all information access solutions before providing access to end-users
*Ensure information access solutions comply with University governance documents, policies and procedures; applicable laws and regulations governing fundraising and higher education; accepted standards of higher education professional organizations such as those suggested by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)

3. Support and collaborate with a diverse University community
*Promote positive collaborative relationships with DAR colleagues, University constituents and third parties to identify, develop, enhance and implement short and long-term reporting and information access solutions
*Identify and address the needs of the campus stakeholders (including colleges, academic departments and other administrative departments) through observation of processes
*Consult with stakeholders to determine requirements and translate requirements into functional solutions
*Collaborate with other DAR Information Services team members to problem solve, identify opportunities for improvement and share knowledge and information
*Create and maintain documentation for information access solutions in a manner which is easily understood, modified and maintained by other team members
*Facilitate a continuous improvement process to align solutions to end-user's changing needs and requirements
*Serve as a liaison for DAR to collaborate with Library and Technology Services to problem solve, identify opportunities for improvement and share knowledge and information
*Occasionally volunteer to support other teams in DAR and support University events

4. Proactively develop, maintain and utilize up-to-date knowledge and familiarity of the technology, processes, procedures and best-practices applicable to DAR's technology portfolio, the University and the development and alumni relations industry
*Utilize, at an intermediate to advanced level, Salesforce configuration options, including, but not limited to: fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions and custom settings
*Utilize, at an intermediate to advanced level, Salesforce-related query technologies such as SOQL and SOSL
*Utilize, at an intermediate to advanced level, common technologies for querying non-Salesforce systems, such as SQL
*Utilize, at an intermediate to advanced level, all technologies related Salesforce Reports and Dashboards
*Utilize, at an intermediate to advanced level, Salesforce-related development technologies such as Lightning Web Components, Apex, JavaScript, HTML and no/low-code related technologies
*Utilize, at an intermediate to advanced level, Tableau
*Monitor new and emerging technologies and upgrades to existing technologies that impact information access solutions
*Monitor publications, web sites, listservs, etc… relevant to DAR's technology portfolio and the development and alumni relations industry
*Identify and attend conferences relevant to DAR's technology portfolio and the development and alumni relations industry
*Join and participate in professional and users groups relevant to DAR's technology portfolio and the development and alumni relations industry
*Attend training, including training offered internally at the University and by DAR

Position Number:  S85900

Grade: 10-40; $64,330-$78,260

This is an approximate range and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field

Three to five years of related work experience

Exceptional skills in providing useful, accurate and timely information to end-users

Adept at critical thinking and problem solving

Ability to work in an environment that mixes project and operational work, prioritizing and escalating as appropriate

Effective at communicating project/task status and issues to management

Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, such as Oracle

Previous development and alumni relations, fundraising, higher education, and/or non-profit industry experience preferred

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
