Lehigh University seeks a talented graphic designer to join our dynamic College of Arts and Sciences team. You will provide essential design support specifically to the Department of Music and the Office of Graduate Programs. Working 30 hours per week, you will be the visual architect behind graduate programs recruitment materials, music performance promotional collateral, and professional communications that enhance our visibility and impact. Your designs will directly influence how prospective students, faculty, and community members experience our renowned programs.

Position Number: S80026

This position is a Grade: 8 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $35,680-$42,820 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.

Key Accountabilities:

• Sustain and grow the visual identity of the Department of Music, reflecting its unique artistic character while remaining aligned with Lehigh University and College standards.
• Ensure a cohesive presentation across all touchpoints, including season posters, digital campaigns, and social media.
• Creative Execution: Design high-quality posters, programs, digital signage, and social media graphics for performances and academic events.
• Recruitment Marketing: Develop visual assets for the Office of Research and Graduate Programs, including viewbooks, brochures, and digital publications to support graduate recruitment.
• Innovative Integration: Selectively apply AI-assisted tools for ideation, image generation, layout exploration, and accessibility testing to increase efficiency while maintaining human-centered creative judgment and brand integrity.
• Build optimized graphics for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Collaborate with the College’s Digital Marketing team to create paid and organic social media ads supporting College initiatives.
• Develop graphics and visual elements for department and College websites.
• Consult with ensemble directors and department heads to understand creative visions, program goals, and recruitment objectives.
• Manage the full production lifecycle, including preparing project schedules, maintaining budgets, and coordinating with printing vendors for quality output.
• Educate stakeholders on the capabilities and ethical considerations of AI-enabled design tools within the workflow.

Qualifications:

• Associates or Vocational/Technical Degree in a related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• One to three years of related work experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Detail-oriented
• Critical thinking skills
• Open to learning new technologies
