Through its timely analysis and deep reporting, CJR is an essential venue not just for journalists, but also for thousands of professionals in communications, technology, academia, and other fields that rely upon quality insight into media industries. The Executive Editor oversees the creation and production of a vital, dynamic website (cjr.org) and a seasonal magazine that focuses on media criticism and thought leadership. The Executive Editor provides the editorial vision and voice, supervising a professional editorial staff and team of freelancers. The Executive Editor provides leadership in the mission to maintain CJR as the leading forum for journalists, media professionals, thought leaders and readers concerned with the role (and survival) of a free press in civil society. This person will develop and implement a strategic audience and editorial strategy, produce events and special projects, with an eye toward ensuring rising visibility, impact and relevance for CJR’s content. The Executive Editor will lead all aspects of the magazine’s operation including but not limited to content development and delivery, audience strategy, staff management, budgeting and administrative responsibilities. In addition to responsibility for content creation, the Executive Editor is also responsible for budget management and supports fundraising initiatives and targeted goals. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Journalism but will also work closely with the Chair of the CJR Board and the Board of Overseers.
Senior Associate Director of Administration and Planning Columbia College Morningside
Reporting to the Executive Director, Administration & Planning, the incumbent oversees a team responsible for the operational and financial functions for Undergraduate Student Life (USL), including the areas of the Dean of USL, Multicultural Affairs, Residential Life, Student Engagement, as well as the financial functions for recognized student organizations and their governing boards and councils, and select programs advised and/or administered by CC/SEAS Undergraduate Student Life. The Senior Associate Director will assist the Executive Director with ad-hoc projects critical to the functions of USL, including vendor services assessment and management, and communications. The Senior Associate Director will create and manage financial policies and procedures for student organizations and programs that are consistent with the policies and practices across Columbia College and the University. Assistant Director Exam Accommodations Columbia Health Morningside
Reporting to the Director of Exam Accommodations, and in compliance with ADA, Section 504 and Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Assistant Director of Exam Accommodations will manage all aspects of the day-to-day administration of accommodated exams and proctoring service, including processing a high volume of academic/exam accommodation for eligible students with disabilities. The Assistant Director will also manage the daily operations and services of Disability Services Testing Center. They will oversee Testing Center staff, including hiring, onboarding, and training of Proctors, Scribes, and other casual employees. This position generally assures procedural compliance and academic integrity as well as upholding individual student accommodations, test conditions set by faculty and departmental policies and procedures.
