About the Role

The Sustainability Lead supports the Sustainability Manager in driving all construction‑phase sustainability requirements and ensuring the project achieves a minimum ISC score of 40+. The role blends onsite engagement, data management, sustainable procurement, and reporting suited to someone who thrives in large‑scale civil environments with complex stakeholder interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain construction data and evidence for ISC submission.
  • Track credit progress, identify gaps, and support site teams with ISC‑aligned practices.
  • Support procurement teams with responsible sourcing requirements.
  • Validate subcontractor evidence and supplier sustainability credentials.
  • Contribute to energy, water, and materials efficiency initiatives across the project.
  • Prepare updates for governance groups and monthly reporting cycles.
  • Maintain tracking tools for energy, water, waste, and materials.
  • Assist with LCA modelling inputs.
  • Manage the Sustainability Risk & Opportunity Register and track improvement actions.
  • Support internal and external audits, assist drafting outcomes, and monitor corrective actions.

About You

You will be a proactive and solutions‑focused sustainability professional with experience on large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects.

You will bring:

  • Qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience supporting sustainability within construction or major infrastructure.
  • ISAP accreditation with solid knowledge of ISC (Design & Construct phase).
  • Strong data management/reporting skills and ability to engage with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Experience with ISC As‑Built submissions.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, waste streams and site processes.
  • Familiarity with LCA, carbon accounting, or circular economy practices.
