About the role 

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Manager to join our passionate, energised and growing team. Working closely with the Organisational Development Manager and Learning & Organisational Development (L&OD) team (L&OD), you’ll help shape BMD’s learning strategy, grow organisational capability and oversee the delivery of high-impact learning experiences to prepare our people with the skills required now and into the future.

Key responsibilities

• Mature the L&D strategy, priorities and activities - translating operational needs into a practical plan.
• Continuously improve BMD’s L&D offering, overseeing the design, delivery, evaluation and optimisation of learning solutions to maintain quality, impact and scalability.
• Oversee the development and delivery of BMD’s flagship internal capability development programs (including BMD’s Graduate, Frontline and Emerging Leaders’ programs).
• Embed cyclical performance and talent management activities, shaping frameworks and influencing the design of technology and tools as we prepare for significant systems transformation.
• Support, empower and develop team members, creating opportunity, growing capability and confidence across the L&D portfolio.

About you 

• Tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience and in senior/specialist Learning & Development, Organisational Development, or Talent roles (Construction or related industry highly desirable).
• Collaborative and empowering leader, with strong relationship‑building, influence and consulting capability.
• Strategic, systems thinker with proven project management skills with the ability to lead multiple programs simultaneously.
• Strong demonstrated experience designing blended and contemporary learning programs using adult learning principles.
• Excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder‑engagement.
• Experience with LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
