About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team on the Palmer Wind Farm Project in South Australia. Open to local SA candidates or FIFO/DIDO from Victoria

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead and drive all health and safety activities on site, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, BMD systems, and client expectations. You will play a critical role in fostering a strong safety culture across the project workforce, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all health and safety functions for the project
  • Implement and maintain BMD’s Safety Management System and project-specific safety plans
  • Provide visible safety leadership and coaching to site teams and subcontractors
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and project requirements
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, training, inductions and safety meetings
  • Monitor safety performance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build strong working relationships with the client and regulatory bodies

About You

  • Proven experience in a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Advisor role on large construction projects
  • Experience in renewable energy, wind farm or major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to lead, influence and drive positive safety behaviours on site
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
