The University of Connecticut, School of Nursing is pleased to invite applications for two (2) Postdoctoral Research Associate positions. Ideal Postdoctoral Research candidates will have completed a Ph.D. in nursing or a related field in the past two years; nurses with prior experience in pain, maternal-child health, or health disparities are encouraged to apply. Grant writing experience is preferred.  Postdoctoral research associates may have access to datasets and may be able to propose and lead their own research aligned with grant priorities. The fellowships are available as early as July 1, 2022, with an initial tenure of 12 months.

  • Ph.D. in Nursing, or related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pain, maternal-child health, or health disparities.
  • Experience conducting and disseminating empirical research.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on a research team to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.


  • Experience in grant submission.
  • Evidence of developing and disseminating products (webinars, guides, briefs) that translate research into practice and/or policy guidance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with a variety of audiences, including the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback to enhance performance. 


These are one-year full‐time (12‐month) positions subject to renewal for up to two years.  The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022. Salary is competitive based on qualifications and experience. The School may be able to accommodate a remote telecommuting work schedule subject to authorization and University policy. The UConn School of Nursing is part of the University of Connecticut Storrs Campus. The Storrs campus location is near Hartford and allows for convenient and fast travel via train or car to other major cities in the Northeast.
