Work Schedule: This position has summers off! Regular schedule is mid-Aug to mid-May with pay and benefits over 12 months.
Starting pay range: $47,328 - $70,554

This Special Appointment position is dependent upon an Industry Sector Grant funded by the Idaho Workforce Development Council through September 2026 and could be extended based on the needs of the program and continued funding.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Associate’s degree in a related field and six (6) years of recent full-time equivalent experience in an area related to the needs of the program OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of recent full-time equivalent experience related to the needs of the program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Required License and/or Certifications:
• Must achieve related Idaho CTE Postsecondary Limited Occupational Specialist Certification within first 12 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial automation
• Knowledge of electrical circuits, electronics, power systems, sensors, actuators and electromagnetism.
• Familiarity with control theory, feedback systems and design of automated systems
• Expert knowledge of safety practices with hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment.
• Understanding of mathematics as applied to electronics, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics technologies
• Strong understanding of ladder logic, embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python
• Ability to interpret, sketch and instruct about industrial blueprints.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electromechanical systems.
• Experience with integrating various systems and components into a cohesive mechatronics system.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to use a personal computer and associated peripherals and current version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Internet, and alternative delivery systems (e.g., internet and interactive video) at a proficient level.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone and copier.
• Ability to occasionally work remotely if necessary.
